Hello, we are Jodie and Naz, owners of Verdant Whisk. We're two local Kent women with a passion for baking delicious goods and creating memorable experiences within the community.

Verdant Whisk is built around bringing people together through beautiful, thoughtful and delicious experiences. From bespoke celebration cakes and seasonal collections to hands-on edible workshops and events, everything we create is designed with a sense of occasion. We love working closely with our local community, collaborating with people and businesses around us, and creating experiences that feel personal, memorable and made with care.

Whether you’re celebrating something big, learning something new, or simply looking for a reason to gather, Verdant Whisk is a place for creativity, connection and really good bakes.

I’m passionate about creating beautiful food that feels just as good to share as it does to look at. A lover of animals and vegan for almost a decade, I’ve spent years developing and refining my recipes, with a particular focus on creating inclusive bakes that don’t compromise on flavour or presentation. I’m naturally a perfectionist and love turning ideas into something people can enjoy, whether that’s a beautifully decorated cake, a new recipe or a hands-on baking experience.

Before starting Verdant Whisk, I built my career in operations, learning and development and people management. As a Chartered CIPD professional, with qualifications in Leadership and Management, I bring a strong professional foundation in organisation, quality, communication and working with people. Those skills are just as important in a small food business; from carefully planning each bake and maintaining high standards, to understanding our customers and making sure every detail is considered.

I also have experience working across a broad spectrum of care, including elderly, learning disabilities and mental health. Alongside this, my family has given me personal insight into neurological disabilities and special educational needs. This has shaped the inclusive and welcoming approach I want Verdant Whisk to have, particularly when creating workshops and experiences for different ages, abilities and needs.

For me, Verdant Whisk brings together everything I care about: creativity, quality, people and the joy of making something by hand.

I have a love for creativity and a passion for beautiful food. With Turkish Cypriot heritage, food, family and bringing people together have always been an important part of my life. Some of my favourite moments are the simple ones; sharing something freshly baked, gathering around a table and creating something special to celebrate life’s milestones. Baking gives me the opportunity to bring that creativity to life while creating experiences that people can enjoy together.

With six years of experience working within the NHS in cancer care, alongside running another business, I’ve spent much of my career in roles where organisation, responsibility, problem-solving and working with people are at the heart of what I do. Working in such a people-focused environment has taught me the importance of compassion, communication and attention to detail, qualities I bring to everything I do at Verdant Whisk. Baking allows me to combine those skills with something much more creative.

I’m a mum of two girls, and family is a huge part of who I am. My experiences as a mum, including raising a child with additional needs, have taught me the importance of patience, understanding and creating spaces where everyone feels comfortable and included. These values are an important part of how I approach Verdant Whisk, particularly when we’re creating experiences for children, families and groups.
